PERMITTING SUMMARY
Projects on the scale of BEDCO's have many interfaces with federal, state and local government. In this section we have provided links to the websites of agencies that perform oversight of the projects including New York State Departments of Environmental Conservation (DEC), Public Service (DPS), Health (DOH) and the US Army Corps of Engineers (ACOE), as well as links to specific documents on these sites. Also see the website for Rensselaer County, NY. For the Newsprint Project, the DEC issued permits that comply with the State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA). The City of Rensselaer has authority for approval of applications for subdivision, site plan approval, variances, and special use, demolition and building permits.
